Rory Ridley-Duff is Associate Professor of Cooperative and Social Enterprise at Sheffield Business School, Sheffield Hallam University. Dr Ridley-Duff’s primary research interest is the process by which democratic relations develop in both informal and formal organisations, and the way this affects governing processes. He has authored two academic books, 32 scholarly papers and two novels. The first academic book - Emotion, Seduction and Intimacy - examines relationship development at work; the second - Understanding Social Enterprise: Theory and Practice - has helped to establish the field of social enterprise studies on four continents. His first novel is False Accusation (previously published under the title 'Friends or Lovers'). The Dragons' Apprentice is his second novel. His research has been accepted for publication in many journals including: * Human Relations * Corporate Governance: An International Review * International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research * Social Enterprise Journal * Journal of Cooperative Studies. He won a best paper awards from Emerald Publishing in 2011 for a paper on ethical capital, and from the 31st Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Conference (ISBE) for critical research on the Social Enterprise Mark. He is a director of Social Enterprise Europe Ltd and co-founder of the FairShares Association. In his academic role, he chairs the Principles of Responsible Management (PRME) Working Group at Sheffield Business School.
