Along her journey she was thrown from a tanker, and found half-frozen in the White Mountains by an aging recluse. Through his mentoring, she grew to accept herself, her strength and her determination... and also took his last name as hers. A tragic beginning in L.A. stole her innocence and violated her friendships. When she met a man, George Stanza, she didn’t realize how much her life would change forever – a clean slate. The Author This second book, Tabula Rasa, has been my pet project since 1983. It first started as a screenplay with approximately sixty pages written with a similar climax as in 8.7 and accompanied by a thread of a storyline to guide me while turning it into a book format. My characters, however, had a different agenda on how we were to arrive at that point. They were not satisfied to be a Los Angeles based novel but wanted a more international flair. Such obstinate characters; I enjoyed their journey with their twists and turns. I started to write Tabula Rasa during my years living in Vancouver, B.C., where I researched the phenomena of missing persons in general. Back in the eighties, the incidents only number around the two hundred thousand that disappeared without a trace. Now, I believe it is between the eight hundred thousand to one million that go missing each year. These numbers take in account runaways, deaths, and obvious kidnappings and we are still left with that incredible number. Just vanish! Jeff’s recipe cards, alias cheat sheets, are exactly what I use to form the story line. They are my snap shot of personalities, names, special dialogue and action scenes. Angela, in the screenplay format, had no inkling of becoming a heiress to the Fournier fortune, mainly because there was no such thing, but her nonchalant attitude towards money, added to her indifference to that money, as long as her friends were cared for. Her only wish was to be a lady and to be loved, unconditionally, which lent well to Jeff’s character. I hope you all enjoy this story and future adventures...
