Anderson and Whitcomb pick up where they left off in DOE Simplified with RSM Simplified -- a practical tool for design of experiments that anyone with a minimum of technical training can understand and appreciate. Their approach is simple and fun for those who desire knowledge on response surface methods but are put off by the academic nature of other books on the topic.
RSM Simplified keeps formulas to a minimum and makes liberal use of figures, charts, graphs, and checklists. It offers many relevant examples with amusing sidebars and do-it-yourself exercises that will lead readers to the peak potential for their product quality and process efficiency.

Mark Anderson is a principal and general manager of Stat-Ease, Inc. Prior to joining the firm, he spearheaded an award-winning quality improvement program for an international manufacturer, generating millions of dollars in profit. Mark offers a diverse array of experience in process development, quality assurance, marketing, purchasing, and general management. Mark is also co-author of: DOE Simplified: Practical Tools for Effective Experimentation and RSM Simplified: Optimizing Processes Using Response Surface Methods for Design of Experiments, and has published numerous articles on design of experiments (DOE). He is also a guest lecturer at the University of MN Chemical Engineering & Materials Science department and the Ohio State University Fisher College of Business.

Soft cover. Condición: Good. 2nd Edition. Oversized paperback, xiii + 297 pages, NOT ex-library. Limited handling wear, good condition with clean and bright pages and unmarked text, free of inscriptions and stamps, firmly bound. -- This accessible guide demystifies Response Surface Methods (RSM), providing engineers and scientists with a practical, hands-on approach to advanced experimental design for process and product optimization. -- Building on foundational factorial designs, the text introduces core RSM techniques like Central Composite (CCD) and Box-Behnken (BBD) designs to map process curvature. It provides strategies for navigating trade-offs when dealing with multiple responses, using desirability functions and case studies like optimizing microwave popcorn. The book also covers computer-generated optimal designs, applications for mixture designs and Six Sigma, and key updates on handling hard-to-change factors with split-plot designs and methods for model confirmation. The approach minimizes complex formulas, relying instead on graphical analysis, intuitive explanations, and software-driven exercises. -- The book's distinction lies in its practitioner-focused pedagogy, which bridges the gap between basic Design of Experiments (DOE) and complex optimization challenges. It is not a dense theoretical reference but a practical toolkit that empowers users to solve real-world problems. It serves as an ideal second step for anyone who has mastered basic DOE and seeks to achieve peak performance in product development, quality improvement, and process engineering.
