Robert C. Bingham, a 31 year veteran of the fire service, is a fire training specialist and consults with fire departments investigating firefighter fatalities. He formerly was a deputy chief in the District of Columbia Fire Department, where he served as a command officer for 15 years and implemented standard operating procedures for structure fires and the Incident Command System in Washington D. C. He has authored many articles on fire fighting procedures. He has taught at the National Fire Academy and as an instructor and course developer for the University of the District of Columbia Fire Science program. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, University College, at College Park Maryland.
