Sinopsis

Jesus is undergoing the terrible sufferings of crucifixion. He knows that he is dying for the sins of all human beings, not just Pilate, the Roman soldiers and his Jewish enemies. His first word is a promise of forgiveness for all repentant sinners. For example, he promises the Good Thief, who turns to him with sorrow and love, that he will experience Paradise that very day. He bids farewell to his mother, entrusting her to the care of the beloved disciple. The small group of family and friends with Mary represents the first Church community. In his agony he uses Psalm 22 to ask why God is not helping him right now. Despite the sufferings he makes clear that he is thirsting to finish his work as Savior, wanting to completely drink the cup of suffering given to him by his Father. Finally, He cries out in triumph that the task of salvation, assigned to him, is now finished. Then with filial confidence he entrusts himself to the Father.
