The workshop was sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research (AHRQ), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). AHRQ and ONC are both part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This report reflects the key points made during the roundtable session and provides key recommendations that came out of the open discussion.
