"After the Cloud" describes life in Heaven and on earth, after the rapture. It is a description of what the author hopes to find Heaven to be like. Author Jim E. Reames serves as a “Subject Matter Expert” (SME) on whole-of-nation cybernetic warfare attack and defense strategies for the U.S. federal government. He was a riot control military policeman in the 1960s, then a deputy sheriff, turned computer programmer in 1973. His 2002 a. d. master’s degree thesis at Boise State University, just 90 days after 9-11 was about international terrorism, asymmetric warfare, and organized crime. Upon academic acceptance, that thesis was immediately summoned by the White House before becoming reading material at West Point Military Academy. All of the novels by Jim E. “After the Cloud” is the continued saga of Boise, Idaho’s Sheriff John Turner (continuation of the 1992 novel, “Valley of the Dry Bones), after he, friends, and family are raptured by Jesus Christ. Upon their arrival to Heaven, the Christians immediately learn the place is far different than expected. In new eternal bodies they are healthy, young, middle aged, and elderly (whatever age they wish). On the surface life seems very much like it was on Earth, when friends and other believers meet and recognize each other; except there is direct face-to-face communication with God, Jesus, biblical people of old, and angels. And there’s more! God and Jesus Christ are totally different than anticipated. Pastor Monty finds himself in a high speed motorcycle race against Jesus and other bikers. Sheriff Turner is met by the United States Marine Captain who was killed in the Iraq War alongside his daughter a decade earlier. The captain informs Turner he is the grandparent of babies that were conceived in Heaven. In the blink of an eye Turner is a young teenager again, then a young adult, after he moves from one dimension into another, where he meets Alice (who was his wife on Earth). Together, they explore Heaven as excited as two young lovers. Meanwhile (down on Earth) billionaire Jake Labow discovers himself left behind. He and the rest of humanity awaken to the fear of deadly earthquakes, shifting ocean tides, collapsed economies, wide spread anarchy, the full brutality of man, and the emergence of a harsh one world government. Overnight empires fall, religious faiths of old collapse, and nuclear bombs are exploded. Starvation comes to America like the bubonic plague. Suddenly there comes a peace in the Middle East, so the Jewish temple can be rebuilt in Jerusalem. “After the Cloud” takes you on two journeys. The first is life in Heaven. The second is life on earth after the World Wide Web and internet cloud are taken down, immediately following the rapture; and the antichrist is about to step up.
