Paul Nichol is a field mycologist who has spent most of his professional life teaching groups of adults the skills needed for the identification of mushrooms and toadstools in Britain. The list of diverse groups which have been taught include students from the Workers Educational Association, university extramural departments, and The Field Studies Council as well as countryside professionals. He is a Trustee of the Association of British Fungi Groups and is a founding chair of the Nottinghamshire group. Now living in Cumbria he is Recorder of Fungi for the county and continues his interest in raising the profile of fungi to community and professional groups both locally and nationally.
