This set of notes and practice tools on brief and very brief psychodynamic, yet fully integrative psychotherapy, is in a modified "cliff's notes" format and incorporates very recent empirical research by most esteemed professionals as well as the author's observations from over thirty-five years of practice on such topics as the therapeutic alliance, establishing the focus, client/ patient selection considerations, and here and now work in the relationship. In addition, there is the presentation of potent micro-technique tools such as the affect bridge, metaphors of the problem, therapeutic stories and tales, the problem solving daydream and active imagination, contrasting videos and others with easy to use scripts to guide the therapist. Excerpts from the Foreword by distinguished psychotherapy researcher, Jeffrey Binder co-author with Hans H. Strupp of "Psychotherapy In A New Key", appear on the back cover and describe his enthusiasm for this Special Edition of the Bulletin of the American Academy of Counseling Psychology.
