In an old hospital nestled near the heart of a small town, a young mother has forsaken everything to care for her ill child. Slowly settling into despair, she struggles alone to preserve hope. But even in the stone sanctuary mother and child are tormented: her son by visions of his deceased father, and she by the vestiges of her own illness. During one of her darker times she’s persuaded to assist an elderly detective in his desperate endeavor to extract “knowledge” from a recalcitrant prisoner. In a small room at the edge of town she slowly uncovers dark and threatening secrets – and the plight to save her family begins.
