The Vega is a lush and peaceful ranching plain. Jim Ryan, a former bounty hunter, has returned to run the ranch he inherited on his father's death. It's not until he's become a fugitive, hunted onto Stonebreaker's Ridge, that Jim becomes aware of another rancher's complicity in a murder and realizes that he's a pawn in a plan for an impending range war.
