PREFACE

Having served as a high school mathematics instructor for thirty-two years and presently tutoring (middleschool, high school, and post graduate students) in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus, itis my professional opinion that students have a solid foundation in skills crucial to transitioning fromsimple to complex skills. Students' early mastery of pertinent skills will undoubtedly result in successfulmathematics experiences. Therefore, I wrote this book with the instructor and students in mind; that is tofacilitate meaningful teaching and learning. Several pages in this book on various mathematics topics maybe used as follow-up or supplementary activities following guided instruction based on the instructor'sdiscretion. An abundance of activities is included for extended practice if required. I attempted to arrangethem in a sequence which will provide a smooth transfer between mastery of mathematics skills. Theinstructor may adapt these activities to the students' needs, abilities and learning styles. Hopefully, thisbook will allow for creativity, flexibility, and enhancement of learning experiences. Students' thoroughmastery of mathematics skills will definitely equip them for careers and challenges of the future.
