The Jealous Adjective is a picture book that tells the story of a powerful part of speech that no longer wants to be just a regular servant of the king, the Noun. When Adjective tells King Noun that she should share the throne with him, he just laughs in her face. But King Noun quickly learns of Adjective's awesome power. With the stroke of her paint brush, she teaches the king that she has the ability to change his appearance from handsome to an ugly green ogre. And that's not all. But King Noun doesn't give up a share of his power without a fight. Because Adjective has changed his looks, Noun changes to a place, thing, and finally an animal, thinking he could out maneuver her. It doesn't work though. He soon learns that adjectives control all facets of nouns. The king finally relents and decides to offer Adjective a partnership. However the victory is bittersweet. She realizes that her actions were a little over the top and apologizes and they live happily ever after. Or do they?
