Known as the Queen City of the Ozarks, Springfield was founded in 1829 and became the seat of Greene County in 1835. Author Connie Yen is a historian and genealogist who has lived in Springfield most of her life. She has a bachelor's degree in history and Ozarks studies from Missouri State University and is currently working on her master's degree in history.
