बनारस में दुनिया भर से लोग आते हैं, गंगा में अपने पाप धो कर ज़िन्दगी की आखरी साँस लेने के लिए| पर मुझे ज़िन्दगी ने हाथ पकड़ कर पहले दिखाई ये पुण्य नगरी "वाराणसी" और उसके बाद मुझे ले गयी "पाप नगरी" लॉस वेगस| बनारस हिन्दू यूनिवर्सिटी में अपनी इंजीनियरिंग की पढाई करने के दौरान मैं गंगा रुपी प्रेम में नहाया तो कई बार परन्तु उसकी पवित्रता का एहसास मुझे अपने पोस्ट ग्रेजुऐशन में वेगस की एक "पूल पार्टी" के दौरान हुआ| मैंने, आकर्षण से शुरू होकर आत्मज्ञान तक जाने वाले जीवन के इस सफ़र में "सच्चे प्रेम" को खोजने का प्रयत्न किया है| इस पुस्तक में प्रत्येक कविता प्रेम के उस हर पडाव को दर्शाती है, जिससे एक प्रेमी हो कर गुज़रता है| इसी रोमांचकारी सफ़र का वर्णन इस पुस्तक में लिखी कविताओं के माध्यम से प्रस्तुत करने का प्रयत्न किया गया है| It is a known fact that people come to Varanasi at the dusk of their lives, the "Holy City" in India after washing all their sins in river Ganges. But in my case, life took me first to the "Holy City of Varanasi" and then to the "Sin City of Las Vegas". During my undergrad in IT-BHU, I bathed in the eternal love which is Ganga Maiyaa to the millions of devotees who flock her shore. But, by the time I realized its holiness and purity, I was already enjoying the 'Pool Parties' of Vegas during my graduation. This journey began with an infatuation and ended in giving birth to a new part of my consciousness. This collection takes us through every stage experienced by a lover. This book is complete snapshot of my journey.

While doing my undergrad in IT-BHU, I bathed in the eternal love like Ganges but by the time I realized its holiness and purity, I was already enjoying the 'Pool Parties' of Vegas during my graduation. I have discovered the spiritual meaning of true love while traveling from the very first station of infatuation to all the the way down to the last station of "Self Realization". Each poem of this collection takes us to the every stage that is experienced by a lover. This book is complete snapshot of my journey.

Biografía del autor

प्रतीक वर्मा ने अपनी प्रारंभिक शिक्षा हिंदी माध्यम में "श्री सनातन धर्म बालक इंटर कॉलेज" से सम्पन्न की है| इन्होंने सन २००८ में "बनारस हिन्दू यूनिवर्सिटी" से "बी टेक" की डिग्री प्राप्त की है| दो साल सॉफ्टवेर प्रोग्रामर के पद पर काम करने के बाद सन २०१० से "यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ नेवाडा, लॉस वेगास, अमेरिका" में "इलेक्ट्रिकल इंजीनियरिंग एवं मैथमैटिक्स" में ऍम अस की डिग्री प्राप्त करने के लिए प्रयासरत हैं| भाग्य द्वारा निर्धारित, अभियंता के पद पर काम करते हुए प्रतीक को लिखना बेहद पसंद है| दोस्तों और परिजनों से प्रोत्साहन मिलने के उपरांत प्रतीक की यह पहली कविता पुस्तक है| Pratik Verma completed his primary education from "Shri Sanatan Dharma Boys Inter College" in Hindi medium. After that, he did his undergraduation from the "Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU)" in 2008. He then worked as a software programmer for two years. As of now, he is pursuing his post graduation (MS) in Electrical and Mathematics in "University of Nevada, Las Vegas". Though he is an engineer by profession but reading and writing poetry is his passion. His friends and family motivated him to pursue his interest further.
