Jack Blaine and his best buddy, Joe, spend hours a week at a local pizza place after discussing their own failing mortality at weekly support group meetings. Born and raised in Chicago, Edwin F. Becker retired to Missouri, where he's spent the past twenty years writing for personal enjoyment. Edwin's life experience as an abused child, combined with his youngest daughter being a foster parent and adoptive parent of abused children, gives him a special insight to the plight of children today.
