How do we know if God and the spiritual world really exist? What is the true nature of God and how does He or She want us to live? Why do people undergo terrible suffering? The search began for the author after undergoing a moment of spiritual revelation, which occurred while receiving cancer treatments. Using interactions with people, experiences with and observations of science and nature, interpretation of song lyrics, and lessons learned from going through cancer and stroke, the author proceeds in a daily effort to truly discover God. Sometimes humorous and, at other times, eye opening, the book definitely requires the reader to think about the world, his or her place in it, and to examine many traditionally held beliefs. People who are undergoing serious medical problems, experiencing depression or anxiety related to loss and uncertainty, or are in search of spiritual inspiration and higher love will find this book most helpful.

In the spring of 2003, Charles Thomas Smoot discovered a lump on the side of his neck which turned out to be Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Between receiving chemotherapy and starting radiation treatments, he wrote an inspired statement about the nature of God, matter, energy, and love. Previously an atheist, he began a search for God and started writing this book. A practicing psychologist, Smoot has worked over ten years with medical patients undergoing rehabilitation and over ten years with children and families in distress. In addition to writing and poetry, Smoot has been a song writer and played guitar professionally. He integrates all of his experiences and some of those of his children into his writing of this profoundly personal spiritual journey.
