Manual to collect and arrange all those Elementary Q-eometrical Propositions not given in Euclid which aS tudent will require in his Mathematical Course. The necessity for such a Work will be obvious to every person engaged in Mathematical Tuition. I have been frequently obliged, when teaching the Higher Mathematics, to interrupt my demonstrations, in order to prove some elementary Propositions on which they depended, but which were not given in any book to which I could refer. The object of the present little Treatise is to supply that want. The following is the plan of theW ork. It is divided into five Chapters, corresponding to Books I., II., III., IV., YI. of Euclid. The Supplements to Books I.-IV. consist of twoS ections each, namely, Section I., Additional Propositions; Section II., Exercises.

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book presents an expanded and accessible approach to geometry, going beyond the traditional framework of Euclid's Elements. The author aims to equip students with the essential geometric propositions needed for further mathematical study. The book is divided into chapters that correspond to the books of Euclid's Elements, with supplemental sections that delve into more advanced concepts. The author emphasizes the practical applications of geometry, drawing from the works of prominent mathematicians such as Chasles, Salmon, and Townsend, and highlighting the significance of geometry in diverse fields like physics and engineering. The book aims to bridge the gap between elementary geometry and its more complex applications, providing a solid foundation for further exploration of the subject.
