Sinopsis

"Kathe didn't know what to do. All they had were the few dollars Wilbur had given them for a week's stay at the motel. But she wouldn't give up, this was her dream, a new beginning with Jack in America." Other Places is the true story of Ria and her mother's immigration to America in 1948. It describes not only their life in Kansas, until her father joined them more than a year later, but also the war years in Holland and Germany leading up to their move. Photographs, and stories from her father's diary, add an extra dimension to her historic account.
