Sinopsis

Principles of Transformer Design, written by Alfred Still and originally published in 1919, is a comprehensive guide to the design and operation of electrical transformers. The book covers the fundamental principles of transformer design, including the theory of magnetic circuits, the calculation of transformer losses, and the selection of appropriate materials for transformer construction. It also includes detailed information on the design of specific types of transformers, such as single-phase and three-phase transformers, autotransformers, and voltage regulators. In addition, the book provides practical guidance on transformer installation, maintenance, and testing. This classic work remains an essential reference for electrical engineers, transformer designers, and anyone involved in the design or operation of electrical power systems. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Reseña del editor

College text to the same extent as if its scope were broadened to include other types of electrical machinery. On the other hand, the fact that there may be a limited demand for it by college students taking advanced courses in electrical engineering has led the writer to follow the method of presentation which he has found successful Sin teaching electrical design to senior students in the school of Electrical Engineering at Purdue University. Stress is laid on the fundamental principles of electrical engineering, andan attempt is made to explain the reasons underlying all statements and formulas, even when this involves the introduction of additional material which might be omitted if the needs of the practical designer were alone to be considered. A large portion of Chapter II has already appeared in the form of articles contributed by the writer to the Electrical World but the greater part of the material in this book has not previously appeared in print.
