Sinopsis

Ten Singing Lessons is a book written by Mathilde Marchesi in 1901. As the title suggests, it contains ten lessons designed to help aspiring singers improve their vocal abilities. Marchesi was a renowned vocal teacher in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and her teaching methods are still highly respected today. The book covers a range of topics, including breath control, tone production, diction, and interpretation. Each lesson includes exercises and practical tips to help singers develop their skills. Marchesi also offers advice on choosing repertoire, preparing for performances, and dealing with stage fright. While the book is primarily aimed at classical singers, many of the lessons and techniques can be applied to other genres of music as well. Marchesi’s approach emphasizes the importance of a strong foundation in vocal technique, but also encourages singers to explore their own unique style and personality. Overall, Ten Singing Lessons is a valuable resource for singers of all levels and backgrounds. It provides a comprehensive guide to the fundamentals of singing, as well as insights and inspiration from one of the most respected vocal teachers of all time. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Reseña del editor

An Appreciation of Madame Mathilde Marchesi by Nellie Melha WHEN I consented to employ my unpractised pen in writing a preface to this book, it was in my mind that a few words on the subject of its distinguished authoress by one who had had the privilege of her guidance and friendship, and who owes her so much love and gratitude as I do, would be of more interest than any dry comment upon the subject matter which speaks so clearly for itself in these all too limited pages. It is not too much to say that Madame Marchesi occupies a unique position in the world of music. She is something more than a great teacher of singing she is at once the great enthusiast and philosopher of her art.
