EXTRACTS is a re-source for artists, writers and thinkers who are looking to expand their radius of insights and wisdom. It is presented in a random way to optimize the possible connections that lurk in the shadows of our perceived realities. Significances emerge in random forays that would otherwise be overlooked in categorically structured formats. This book is for those who choose to make connective leaps on their own terms, guided by the pioneers of past and present.

A descendant of ranchers and farmers, Matt Hill was born in the Santa Clara Valley of California in 1954. Having somehow survived twelve years of Catholic indoctrinations, he took a degree in philosophy from UC-Santa Cruz in 1977. The Marshall Creek Press series of avant-garde chapbooks was edited and published by him in the mid-1990's. He has lived in and around the Santa Cruz Mountains for most of his life and continues to extract the significant and metaphorical from the daily realm of the mundane
