THE U.S. HEALTH SYSTEM offers not only an historical perspective detailing the origins of our health care system, but also discusses the forces that changed and shaped our system into what it is today. Camille K. Barsukiewicz, Ph.D., is a professor in the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Memphis in Tennessee.
Marshall W. Raffel, Ph.D., is a professor emeritus of health policy and administration at The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pennsylvania.
