Sinopsis

The field of spatial econometrics has come to include the methods and models that deal with estimation and testing problems encountered when attempting to implement regional economic models. Those problems are often characterized by the difficulties associated with assessing the importance of spatial dependence and spatial heterogeneity. This book includes contributions on spatial proximity, spatial patterning and in particular the spatial association (dependence) contained in local map patterns.

Acerca del autor

ARTHUR GETIS has taught and conducted research at many institutions including the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Rutgers University, Bristol University, Princeton and Harvard Universities. He is best known for his work on spatial pattern analysis, including the development with J.K. Ord of local spatial statistics. - JESUS MUR has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Economic Analysis at the University of Zaragoza, Spain since 1986. His current research topics are spatial econometrics, mainly autocorrelation approaches, location tendencies, regional forecast techniques and short-term economic analysis. - HENRY G. ZOLLER is Professor in the Department of Geography at Louvain University (Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium). Over the last twenty years he has worked on various topics in the fields of spatial economic analysis, multicriteria modelling and policy evaluation in urban planning.
