Excerpt from Java, Vol. 2: Seine Gestalt, Pflanzendecke und Innere Bauart
P u l u Rek a ta [auch p.-krakatoa oder Krakatau erhebt sich, von unten bis oben mit Waldung bedeckt, steil aus dem Wasser und ist ein chen solcher ke elförmiger Inselberg wie pula-bösi [oder tji-besi Vom G. Ads im Innern von Ban tern gesehen, stellt sich die Insel Pulli - Ré ats (so nennen sie die dortigen Bewohner) genau so dar, wie ich sie in der hier bei gefügten Fi a abgebildet habe. Eine andre, näher liegende Insel, welehe dess alh dunkler schattirt ist, wird dort Pula - Lampo tji kuning genannt, es ist aber wahrscheinlich pulu-bési oder -tjibesi (sibésr) der Karten und erscheint in den Umrissen wie Fig. 6. Ich peilte von dem g.-dadap den höchsten Gipfel 6' von a in N or den zu Westen und von b in Norden zu Westen.
