Excerpt from Computer Code for the Calculation of Thermal Neutron Absorption in Spherical and Cylindrical Neutron Sources
This calculation has been carried out in connection with a program to reduce the uncertainties in the corrections applied to the manganous sulfate bath calibration of neutron sources The correction considered here is to account for the reduction of the manganese activity due to the loss of thermalized neutrons absorbed in the neutron source itself.

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book is a meticulously detailed guide to the calculation of thermal neutron absorption in spherical and cylindrical neutron sources. It begins by providing a solid foundation in the theoretical formalism underpinning the calculations before progressing into developing and implementing a computer code in FORTRAN IV. Written for scientists and researchers, this book presents a comprehensive study of neutron interactions within defined shapes, delving into the physics of neutron transmission, absorption, and scattering processes. The inclusion of program listings and sample results will be of particular use to those tasked with the computational analysis of neutron sources. This book is a valuable resource for anyone seeking to advance their knowledge of neutron physics or enhance their computational capabilities in this field.
