Sinopsis

An only child in a Catholic family during the 1980's, eleven year-old Janie Anderson is overjoyed at the birth of her little sister, Lily. When grief strikes, Janie sets out on a mission to restore her family. Events in the news, messages from President Reagan, a Gospel passage and Our Lady of Fatima each play a role in helping Janie. Now the target of the class bully, Janie begins a new mission; befriend the bully. Janie confides in her best friends and her diary, which she considers to be letters to God, and shares them with the reader throughout the story. In part two, Janie's whole world is turned upside-down. Physical and emotional changes occur just in time for Janie to begin eighth-grade. Janie's Faith wavers. Capturing the nostalgia of the 1980's, "Janie's Prayer" borders on Historical Fiction when Janie suddenly finds herself in Fatima in the year, 1917. This section of the book is based upon the writings of Venerable Lucia, herself.
