Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This thought-provoking book probes the history of syphilis and rectifies common misconceptions about its transmission, progression, and cure. The author argues that syphilis is not as severe as commonly believed, and that while it can cause lasting damage, this is often due to patient negligence or unhealthy practices. Addressing the common fear of infection through non-sexual means, the author emphasizes that the risk of contagion from sources such as everyday items is negligible. Moving on to current views on transmission, it explores the worrying trend of heightened symptoms in primary cases when acquired outside the US. In exploring the quest for a cure, the author emphasizes that while no actual cure exists, managing syphilis is possible with medication. It argues against alternative treatments and emphasizes the effectiveness of administering mercury, particularly when used with a prolonged, continuous, and mild approach. According to the author, this method aims at striking a balance between diminishing symptoms and maintaining a tonic effect to increase red blood cells and support the patient's health. The author advocates for this approach, claiming it yields the best results and fewest ill effects.
