Severe injuries to potatoes and to strawberry plants from the white grub of, probably, Lachnosterna fusca were reported from Cattaraugus county. Examples, for identification, of Lachnosterna tristis (fahr.) were received from Mr. J. S. Smart, of Cambridge.
