Was published with some precipitation; but though it had the faults of diffuseness, and want of perspicuity', it obtained the sanction in this Country, and abroad, of names long celebrated in science: After having been translated, Upon the Continent, and noticed, with approbation, by the Professor of the practice in the Edinburgh University, in his public lectures, it seemed to be entitled to improvement in a Second Edition, which had been much demanded.
