The generous reception given the Pocket Dictionary has made it necessary to issue a new edition within a few months. N 0 change has been made in the plan of the booklet, and but little in the text. Some errors have been corrected and a number of definitions added which the use of the little book has shown to be needed. In several instances the names of minerals by no means common in the country have been introduced because they are of economic importance in North Carolina, and the Dictionary was prepared primarily for my own pupils.
