Sinopsis

Discover a gentle tale of effort, creativity, and growing up through Georgie’s world. This classic children’s story follows a sick, curious boy who finds joy and purpose in making and sharing. As Georgie learns to use his hands—from windmills to small boxes—friends like Jonas and Rollo help him turn quiet days into meaningful work and happy moments.

In this edition, you’ll meet Georgie’s creative corner: shelves full of tools, paint, and tiny projects that become big feelings of pride. You’ll see how making things can bring friendship, money, and meaning, even when movement is limited. And you’ll hear a thoughtful lesson about valuing playthings for use and shared joy, not just for novelty.

- Follow Georgie’s inventive days, from crafts at his desk to the shop where his earnings grow.
- See how a community, including a thoughtful mentor and attentive friends, helps a dream take shape.
- Learn the difference between playthings that entertain briefly and those that invite repeated, useful use.
- Enjoy a gentle, storybook look at family, generosity, and the power of making.

Ideal for readers who enjoy classic children’s literature with warm characters, simple lessons, and a focus on industrious, creative play.

Reseña del editor

Excerpt from Georgie: Story Vi of Rollo at Work, or the Way to Be Industrious

A short distance from where Rollo lives, there is a small, but very pleasant house, just under the hill, Where you go down to the stone bridge leading over the brook. There is a noble large apple tree on one side of the house, which bears a beauti ful, sweet, and mellow kind of apple, called golden pippins. A great many other trees and flowers are around the house, and in the little garden on the side of it towards the brook. There is a small White gate that leads to the house, from the road; and there is a pleasant path leading right out from the front door, through the gar den, down to the water. This is the house that Georgie lives in.
