To facilitate the use of the book, the specification matter has been placed on the. Left-hand pages only, large type has been used, and such matter as would be changed to suit particular specifications has been printed in italics, or otherwise arranged, so as to readily attract the eye. In places where special makes, grades and numbers are commonly specified, it has seemed pref crable to insert appropriate ones rather than to leave blank spaces always more or less confusing.
