Excerpt from Personal Work
A number of my fellow-workers have been urging me to present in some permanent form, especially for the Christian students in our institutions of learning, results of my experience in the study and practice of personal work. Whether my compliance with the request of these friends will supply a need, or even present new thoughts, in connection with this important part of Christian activity, can only be determined when the following pages have gone upon their mission. I am under special obligations to the International Committee of Young Men's Christian Associations for the liberty to quote from or use its valuable pamphlets on this subject, and I take the liberty to arrange desirable texts of Scripture after the method used by Mr. Dyson Hague in Ways to Win.

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This helpful book by the author underscores the importance and scriptural basis of personal evangelism. The main thesis put forth by the author is every Christian is not only obligated to do personal work but that it is possible and not difficult to do so. The author supports this claim by pointing to Jesus' explicit command to his disciples to go forth and make disciples and to the subjective evidence of personal conversion. He goes on to discuss the conditions for evangelistic effectiveness, emphasizing the believer's need to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to possess personal and spiritual qualities like common sense and tact. The book also explores the practicalities of personal work such as methods and means of approach. Providing sample conversations and illustrations from both scripture and real life, this book's insights are invaluable to those seeking to extend Christ's kingdom and serve the Christian cause.
