Sinopsis

Master the fundamentals of radio communication with core theory and hands-on experiments.

This classic early text presents practical, foundational ideas for building and understanding radio systems, from simple circuits to the basics of transmission and reception. This edition explains how electric disturbances create waves, how antennas radiate and receive signals, and how to measure and interpret circuit behavior. It blends theory with experiments to help readers grasp tuning, resonance, and the role of components like condensers, inductors, and tubes in radio work.

  • Core radio theory and practical experiments for hands-on learning
  • Foundations of circuits, resonance, impedance, and wave propagation
  • Antennas, transmission apparatus, and detectors used in early radio
  • Introduction to vacuum tubes, amplifiers, and oscillator principles
Ideal for readers seeking a practical, historical look at the foundations and techniques of early radio work.

Reseña del editor

Excerpt from The Principles Underlying Radio Communication: Radio Pamphlet No. 40, December 10, 1918

In this book are presented briefly the basic facts and principles of electromagnetism and their applica tion to radio communication. In the effort to present these topics in a simple manner for students with very little mathematical preparation, it has been necessary at times to use definitions, illustrations, and analogies which would not be used in a work prepared for more advanced students. Frequent references to standard books are given for further study, and students should be encouraged, as far as possible, to consult them.
