The author, himself a member of the class, writes about the lives and careers of his classmates, with over 150 responding to his request for updates. Providing both a glimpse into the lives of those who graduated alongside the author and an overview of the lives of well-educated people at the turn of the 20th century, this book holds insights that will intrigue anyone interested in the history of higher education in America.

On the eightieth birthday anniversary of Former President Andrew D. White, November 7, 1912, the Secretary, on behalf of the class, conveyed to Dr. White the congratulations and best wishes of the members of '93. In reply to this message the Secretary received the following, which he now passes on.
