Excerpt from Trial Issue of the New Ritual for "Temple Israel," St. Louis
And we pray this day that we may have such a sufficient conception of Thy presence, and obtain such a vitalizing spark of Thy mercy and majesty, that from its fullness and adaptation to all our wants, we shall rise up strengthened, not in our own conceit, but in our God. May we learn more and more to glorify in the God of Israel, in our Father who is in Heaven, and may we, by degrees as we advance in life and experience, forsake more and more all the vanities and frivol ities and sins that pollute the habitations of men.
