Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book is a restoration of the lost work "On Divisions of Figures" by the Greek mathematician Euclid, who lived around 300 BCE. Only fragments and references to this work survived until the publication in 1851 of a treatise in Arabic attributed to Euclid, from which the author has recreated the original text. The book is divided into 36 propositions and covers methods for dividing geometric figures into parts with given ratios and areas, including triangles, parallelograms, and circles. The author has drawn on the work of other mathematicians such as Leonardo Fibonacci and the Arabian writer Muhammed Bagdedinus to provide a comprehensive treatment of the subject. This book will be of interest to scholars of ancient mathematics, historians of science, and anyone fascinated by the enduring legacy of Greek mathematical thought. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
