This book details the observations of a member of a group of school representatives from the US traveling through England, France, and Germany between 1908-1909, in a bid to learn from the European school systems. As part of the trip, the author researched and recorded key aspects of each country's curriculum and educational methods, detailing facilities, grading, and the overall school environment. The study was the genesis of a comparative educational analysis of the US and European setups revealing insights that are as applicable to present day educators as they were to those of the early 20th century.
