The pages before page 304 of this book are the same as those in the New Practical Arithmetic; therefore, pupils whose limited time for study does not allow them to pursue the subject beyond the New Practical Arithmetic, can use that book in the same class with other pupils who, intend ing to pursue the subject further in a higher class, may obtain this book at first, and save the cost of a separate book for Higher Arithmetic.
By means of the numbers at the heads of the paragraphs, reference is readily made to principles before stated, and thus a review of the whole subject is kept up and much space is saved.
