Excerpt from Poems

Lord Monteagle married a cousin of Sir Aubrey de Vere, Lady Theodosia Pery, one of the seven daughters of Edward Pery, Ist Earl of Limerick. Their eldest son, Stephen Edward, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Customs, was drowned at sea in 1865, a year before his father's death, so that the title passed to his eldest son, the present Lord Monteagle.
