Sinopsis

Excerpt from A Check to Infidelity: Or a Demonstration That the Christian Religion, Is as Worthy of the Wisdom, Power, and Goodness of God, as the Works of Creation and Providence

I proceed - The Creator having permitted our fall and ruin to take place in the fit-li Adam, does it not vindi cate his julizice from the imputation of feverity, that he hath permitted our recovery by Jefus Chrill, the fecond Adam? If our original depravity was without our fault, our redemp tion was without our help. If we derive a corrupt and depraved nature from our parents, we may obtain a divine nature by jefus Chrifl. If the fall were attended with the lofs of Paradife, the recovery inveita us with the kingdom of heaven, and with innumerable blefiings which did not belong to a {late of innocence. Not as the tranfgreflion, (0 is the free gift. Where fin hath abounded, grace hath much more abounded. We are now initiated into the mylleries of the glorious perfon and grace of God the Re deemer. Man has here no caufe of complaint againlt his Maker; but is laid under the highel't obligations of gratitude and love.
