Dissertatio quam sum scripturus de Aeschyli tragoedus quatuor partes habet: quibus ex pmtibus duae pertinent ad Septem in Thebas fabulam, duae ad Prometheum vinctum. Sic autem rem instituam ut in prima et tertia partibus dicam de inte1polationibus injuste ah interpretibus statutis: namque illa in tragoedia duas dive1sas fictiones atque invicem sese exclu dentes servari nupenime vir quidam doctus judicavit sic ut ah uno eodemque poeta non possent esse profectae; neque minus altera in tragoedia interpres quidam nuper diversas fictiones invenisse sibi visus est, atque quamquam ipse res diversas di versis temporibus ah ipso Aeschylo excogitatas esse censuit, facile tamem si quis concedet fictionum dìversitatem, epinabitur eam deben' diversis poetis; adjiciam autem panca alia quae quamvis abho1reant rationibus aliis in fabulis poetae sanctis, hoc tamen ipso mihi quidem non indigna videntur. In altera. Et quarta partibus dicam iis de interpolationìbus quas duo nostrae disciplin&e principes suo jure statuisse videntur. Has in quaestiones itemm inquirere accuratius juvat vehementissime, quod Bergkius conjecturae quam public&vit de Sept. Fabulae exitu ah Aeschylo abjudicando prorsus nullas attulit causas; de From. Autem fabulae canticis Westphalius, qui primus ne gavit ea esse Aeschylea, brevissime cum ageret de Graecorum arte metrica, eas tantum significavit causas quae pertinent ad res metricns: de carminum argumento nihil addidit. Ut igitur eluoeat quo in sententiarum connexu poeta orationum paria posuerit, paucis explicandum est prioris tra goediae partis argumentum. Atque primum Eteocles rex post quam ex Tiresia vate comperit hostes noctu statuisse mane in Thebas facere impetum, (nam vv. 27 sanum sensum non praebent nisi ex Dindorfii conjectura sic soribentur.
