Advanced Decision Support Systems based on mathematical programming models receive input data from Decision Data Bases (Ddb) that are derived from, but different than, corporate data bases. This paper elaborates on the concept of the Ddb, its derivation, and its practical significance. Two specific Ddb sare examined in detail, one addressing integrated logistics planning and the other addressing dedicated portfolio optimization.
