Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book, authored by a professor of mechanical engineering, offers a clear, non-mathematical, introduction to theoretical mechanics suitable for students in introductory courses and those with little mathematics. The author presents the central principles with an emphasis on the integration of the theoretical and applied perspectives. Establishing the connection between theory and application, the book goes on to outline some of the historical developments of mechanics, including an insightful examination of the work of Galileo, Newton, and Lagrange amongst others. The author explores the broader relevance of this field of knowledge and demonstrates how it underpins the development and innovation of new technologies across a wide range of disciplines â" such as robotics, nanotechnology and biomechanics.
