The calumnies of a violent bigot carry with them their own corrective but the most groundless accusations may make considerable impression when a fair and temperate writer lends them his sanction.

I shall now examine your alleged proofs of the Supreme Deity of Christ from the Gospel of John, and if I explain them satisfactorily, they will afford such negative evidence as the case admits that the apostle was a Unitarian; of which conclusion I shall also advance positive evidence.
