This book is a collection of parables that draw on the natural world to teach moral lessons. The author, an admirer of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales, shares their conviction that humans have much to learn from nature and its creatures. The stories in this book range from the charming to the thought-provoking, inspiring compassion, humility, and faith. The author invites readers to consider the concept of equality, the ephemeral and interconnected nature of all life, and the importance of embracing life's inevitable changes. By placing these parables within the context of the broader natural world, the author opens a path to a deeper understanding of our place within it, revealing the wisdom and guidance that nature offers to those who take the time to seek it. The book's insights are profound yet accessible, offering readers a fresh perspective on life's challenges, the nature of existence, and the essential interconnectedness of all living things.

The sea wore a leaden, inky hue, and at two or three miles' distance from the vessel, air and ocean seemed to melt into each other. A sort of hot steaminess prevailed, which soaked through clothes, sails, and every article on board, and produced the most wretched languor and depression in every one subject to its influence.

Excerpt from The Circle of Blessing: And Other Parables From Nature
"There are two books," says Sir Thomas Browne, in his Religio Medici, "from whence I collect my divinity: besides that written one of God, another of his servant, Nature - that universal and public manuscript that lies expanded unto the eyes of all: those that never saw Him in the one have discovered Him in the other." And afterwards, as if giving a particular direction to the above general statement, he adds: "Those strange and mystical transmigrations that I have observed in silkworms turned my philosophy into divinity.
