Sinopsis

Excerpt from Open Water

All art, of course, has its ancestry. While it is the duty of poetry both to remember and to honour its inherited grandeurs, the paradoxical fact remains that even this most convention-rid den medium of emotional expression is a sort of warfare between the embattled soul of the artist, seeking articulation, and the immuring traditions with which time and the prosodian have sur rounded him.

Excerpt from Open Water

To even the casual reader of poetry who may chance to turn to the following pages it will be evident that the lyrics contained therein have been written without what is commonly known as end-rhyme. It may also be claimed by this reader that the lyrics before him are without rhythm. As such, it may at first seem that they mark an effort in revolt against two of the primary assets of modem versification.

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book is a collection of lyrical poetry from the early twentieth century. The author was one of the first to experiment with free verse. This book includes reflections on the author's personal struggles, including grief, love, failure, the beauty of nature, and the search for meaning in life. At the time of publication, this book was groundbreaking, pushing against the rigid forms of the day. The poems here grapple with universal human experiences in ways that are both raw and thought-provoking. Today, they remain an inspiring examination of human emotion and a significant work in the history of poetry. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Nº de ref. del artículo: 9781331736738_0
