IN the abridged explanation of the Christian Doctrine which, at the repeated instances of my fellow-priests, l have decided to give to the public, I have followed the plan of the Catechism of Rodez, without rigorously confining myself to its text.
When I undertook this long and difficult work, I had not the preten sion of offering something new, at least not in the main.
