Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book is a moralistic treatise of the late medieval period that reflects upon the certainty of death as a means to contemplate themes of mortality, suffering, and hope. The authorâs primary method is the use of visual art to illustrate scenes of mortality, in which Death personified is a recurring character interacting with people from the highest ranks of society to the lowest. It is a book that is deeply engaged with questions of fate, chance, and the afterlife, and which uses striking and memorable imagery to make its points. Through these simple, yet effective woodcuts, the author prompts us to consider the meaning of our own lives and deaths and to reflect on our inevitable mortality. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Nº de ref. del artículo: 9781331543336_0
